William M. Parsley, MD, FISHRS
Dr. Bill Parsley was born in Kingsport, TN in 1943. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University (1965) and the University of Tennessee Medical School (1969). After completing a one year internship at the Los Angeles County General Hospital (1970), he completed 2 years in the United States Air Force at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia, working as a Flight Surgeon (1972). He entered a 3 year Residency in Dermatology at the University of Louisville Medical Center, finishing in 1975. He was Chief Resident in his final year.
In February of 1974, while in Residency, he visited Dr. Bluford Stough in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he was exposed to hair restoration. Upon returning to Louisville, he started practicing hair restoration and has continued. Entering private practice in Louisville, KY in 1975, hair restoration became and remained a primary interest. In 1997, his practice became devoted exclusively to hair restoration.

Dr. Parsley was invited to organize a continuing column named Cyberspace Chat in the Hair Transplant Forum International (the official medical publication of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery) in 2000. In 2002, he became Co-Editor of the Forum and continued until 2005. He presently writes an Editor Emeritus column for the Forum in rotation with other past Forum editors.
Dr. Parsley has written 2 chapters in the latest issue of the textbook Hair Transplantation and has written another 2 chapters in the upcoming Stough/Haber textbook. He has also contributed articles to Cosmetic Surgery and to the Hair Transplant Forum International. He has been a faculty speaker at many national and international meetings since 1999.
Dr. Parsley is in private practice in Louisville, KY where he is also an Associate Clinical Professor in Dermatology.
