Barry H. Hendler, MD, DDS
Barry H. Hendler, DDS, MD, is an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Hendler received his dental degree from Temple University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP). He completed an internship in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at MCP and residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Hendler has maintained interest in hair transplantation and micrografting for over 20 years and he currently devotes his time exclusively to the field. He introduced microfollicular technique as standard to his practice over 15 years ago, prior to this procedure gaining its current popularity. Dr. Hendler has lectured and published both nationally and internationally specifically focusing on the use of single hair, follicular and minigrafts, as well as the team approach to hair restoration Surgery.
A pioneer in temporomandibular joint laser arthroscopy, Dr. Hendler has published and lectured extensively. Dr. Hendler coordinates laser and cosmetic surgery and is Director of Postgraduate Medical Education(Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery). He currently serves as Medical Director of his department at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
