Seeking Patients to Enroll in Clinical Research Studies

Seeking Patients to Enroll in Clinical Research Studies

The FUE Advancement Committee (FUEAC) of the ISHRS is promoting research to help define the “best practices” in the area of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and is seeking patient volunteers. Volunteers will not only benefit personally, but the knowledge gained from the studies will contribute to the fund of knowledge to identify the optimal instrumentation, methods to limit scarring, procedures to enhance graft growth and survival, techniques to ensure preservation of the donor area, and investigate many other areas related to FUE.

Three scientific studies are already being carried out by the FUEAC and there are plans to add more studies and additional sites in the upcoming year so please visit this site again.

ISHRS member physicians that are either interested in conducting an ongoing study or designing a new study are encouraged to contact James Harris, MD, FISHRS, chairman of the FUEAC. Member physicians who know of patients willing to volunteer should refer them to this webpage.

If you are interested in more information or to enroll in a study, please contact the site directly and reference the study title.

Disclaimer: The ISHRS provides research notices as informational to patients and investigators.  The ISHRS is not conducting the studies.  This information does not represent an ISHRS endorsement, but rather, makes you aware that clinical studies are available for your participation if you choose.  If you are presently under the care of a physician for your hair loss or other conditions, you should discuss this study with your doctor before altering your treatment plan.  The ISHRS is not responsible for any adverse outcomes.
